As of July 1st, 2021, the European Union has introduced new import laws that require much stricter regulations regarding parcels.

The new EU tax laws only effect B2C (Business to Consumer) sellers and are meant to create more restrictions for e-commerce sellers outside of the EU. Since all the parcels shipped through our service are gift parcels sent from individuals to other individuals, you will not be required to pay taxes on ALL packages.

However, it is true that customs has updated their scanning technology and are being much more strict about checking all parcels, especially air mail. That is why it’s very important for you to declare exactly what is inside the parcel and its value. The declared value should always match the insured value of the package, if you wish to avoid unnecessary charges.

It is also highly advised that you keep a copy of the receipts/invoices of the items you are sending and include them in the package, as well as keeping a copy for yourself – so that you can prove the exact value of the purchase if any complications arise.

It is very important that you don’t send any prohibited materials. Not only will your parcel be sent back, but you will have to pay for its return fee, and you will also be financially responsible for any loss that the company experiences due to potential hindrances that your parcel has caused to the shipment. For a full list of restricted materials, visit our Prohibited Items page.

If the situation arises where you or the recipient are required to pay taxes on a parcel, you will receive all necessary information from the shipping company by phone or email.

We at Fabko Shipping are not in charge of customs in Europe. We do not take responsibility for any potential charges, fees, or taxes applied to international shipments. We also do not take responsibility for any potential delays caused by customs inspection or investigation.

We are not associated with customs or border control, and have no influence over any rules or procedures enforced by them.

We are also unable to provide any information regarding import fees, ie. why you are being charged and what exactly you are being charged for each item. This area of import is strictly in the hands of the European Union.
